Solpod in Sydney Inner West Go Solar Campaign

Go Solar Campaign – Inner West Council

A reminder to businesses in the Inner West area of Sydney that Solpod is being promoted in the council’s Go Solar campaign.  Inner West businesses can take advantage of no installation fees or minimum terms for Solpod rentals.

In 2019, the Inner West Council declared a climate emergency, adopting a Climate and Renewables Strategy in response.

The Inner West Council included Solpod solar in their campaign, recognising that we offer businesses relocatable solar. The Council describes the benefits of Solpod’s rooftop solar to businesses:

“It’s the first time that rooftop solar systems have been prefabricated, which helps with quality control and reduces time on site. The “solar pods” do not penetrate the roof, and can be redeployed if a business moves or a property is sold.”

Inner West Relocatable Solar for Business

See the following ‘Inner West Relocatable Solar for Business’ webinar video featuring Solpod from late 2020.  Sonia Williams, Innovation Officer from the Inner West Council, interviewed James Larratt and Nick Brass from Solpod.

Ms Williams says that Solpod’s innovation, “Ticks the boxes for solar innovation and flexibility around financing and property tenure.”

Nick Brass, Co-Founder of Solpod explains the flexibility of the Solpod rental offer:

“The simple offer with the Solpod Rental solution is that rather than having to think about a long term investment with a 25 year asset on your roof, we’ve sized the solar rental solution to your existing rental agreement.  So if you’ve got have a three year rental agreement on your property, then you can get a Solpod rental agreement that goes in line with that rental agreement. At the end, you can send the pods back, or you can pass them onto incoming tenants.”

No Installation Fee for Inner West Businesses

James Larratt, CEO and Co-Founder of Solpod said: “Innerwest has negotiated an absolutely cracking deal for you. Typically we would charge an install fee. And through the investment from Inner West in this campaign and their support, they have been able to negotiate that this install fee be waved. So for a 140,000 thousand dollar solar system might mean a saving to you of $15,000 upfront.”

Larratt adds: “It’s a really great opportunity this campaign and this is really one you should get on quickly.”
